Winnipeg, Ontario, Canada: Fort Garry

Hudson Bay Trading Company

Lower Fort Garry was built by the Hudson Bay Trading Company in anticipation of trouble with the Native Americans living in the area. The trouble never materialized, not a shot was ever fired rom this fort.

Fort Garry: the main house

Actually known as The Big House, for the governor, postmaster, etc. and their wives and the servants. The children? Usually at boarding school.
